The plate is signed Julius Guldbrandsen about whom Weilbach's Kunsnertleksikon writes:

Julius Vilhelm Guldbrandsen mainly painted the Danish landscape, which he depicted in different lights and at different times of year. G. continued his flair for landscape motifs in his work with underglaze decoration as a signing artist at the Royal Danish Museum of Fine Arts. Porcelainsfabrik. G. then introduced this technique and style at Rosenthal, where as artistic director he gave the German factory's extensive production of utility porcelain and decorative objects its characteristic, colourful touch over a period of around 15 years. Around 1936 he tried his hand at producing stoneware on his own in Herrsching am Ammersee.
