Gorm the Old red wine glass

600 kr.

made by Holmegaard, who called the glass a bowl with a square foot, and by Kastrup Glassworks, where the service was called Emma.
The two services can only be distinguished by the shape of the "flower" under the foot.

In the late 1920s, glass wholesaler Wiggo Dahl Holmegaard sold a version of the glass called Gorm the Old, and it is under this name that most people know the glass today.
Eventually Holmegaard took over the distribution of this glass and called it Viking. Dear child many names.

Gorm den Gamle is the only Danish-produced glass with a square foot. Precisely because of the square shape, there are almost always chips on the base of the glass. See the pictures.
