Camé pendant

1.275 kr.

with a portrait of a woman with vine leaves in her hair in a gilded metal frame.

Grapes were a symbol of prosperity and the woman could either symbolize prosperity or be a female counterpart to the wine god Bacchus.
On the back is a very fine engraving of De Gaetano, possibly the name of a previous owner or the maker of the cameo.

The frame is slightly depressed at the bottom. See the backside image.

Length including loop: 5.5 cm
