Bitossi vase

designed by Aldo Londi in the 1960s. Ceramic with Rimini blue glaze.

Aldo Londi (1911 - 2003) was born in Italy and was already working with ceramics as a child. He later became artistic director of the already famous family-owned Bitossi Studio in Montelupo.
Londi created several collections of ceramics, including the Rimini blue glaze, such as this vase, for Bitossi Studio. His work won international recognition and was sold in many countries outside Italy. In Denmark, Bitossi's products were (among others?) sold in Illums Bolighus.
The vase is stamped Illums Bolighus and numbered.
